GREAT SERENGETI MIGRATION SAFARI – 2015/2016
This is one of our popular safari packages. The package highlights a true African safari, with a mixture of luxury lodges and camps in the northern circuit.
Highlights include Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Crater and Arusha National Park.
Day 1 – Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival to Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and briefed by a Safari Wire representative, who will transfer you to the lodge for an overnight stay. Dinner and overnight at Olasiti Lodge.
Day 2 – ARUSHA – LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
This morning we drive through Arusha to Lake Manyara national Park. Much of the northern part of the park is fed by underground water from the Ngorongoro highlands and as a result gets covered in dense forest vegetation, giving it the appearance of a tropical jungle. The forest is an ideal habitat for elephant, bushbuck, blue monkey and huge troops of baboon. Some parts of the park are dry bush land which attracts zebra, impala and giraffe. The lakeshore in the park provides another habitat which is perfect for flamingoes and other shore birds. Dinner and overnight at Kudu Lodge.
Day 3 – 7: NGORONGORO CRATER – SOUTH SERENGETI N. PARK (NDUTU AREA)
We depart in the morning and head to Ngorongoro Crater for a full day game drive. Our drive will take us up to the rim of the crater and descend more than 2,000 feet on steep tracks cut into the crater wall to reach the open plains of the Crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is undoubted the best place in Tanzania to view the black rhino as well as large prides of lion that include the magnificent black-manned males. It is also home to huge herds of Wildebeest and Zebra and much other plain game such as Thompson’s gazelle. An alkaline lake on the floor of the Crate provides a habitat for colorful flamingo and a variety of other water birds. Massive bull elephants feed in the swamps, some adorned with enormous tusks. Later in the afternoon proceed to Ndutu Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: NGORONGORO – ARUSHA
Today you will have a leisurely breakfast and then start the drive to Arusha through the Great Rift Valley, close to Lake Manyara and arrive in Arusha in time for lunch. After lunch there will be time for shopping before the trip to the airport for your departer Pure. Day use room at Kia Lodge (on request).
